hope you never have to use it. that's an inch long needle into the side of your thigh. life-saving and needed for sure, but fucking christ i wouldn't want to have to use one.



(for use in anaphylaxis.. its when your blood vessels dilate and your airway swells shut. you also get acute uticaria. hives. not fun.)

Actually, no. Both times I was stung, it was so bad I couldn't reach a phone and I was home alone. Both times.

i remember last christmas i got sick with something, i threw up and dint makeit to the bathroom in time. my dad made me clean it up too. i threw up 4 more times in that hour

I was cleaning the pool out back, at my old house, and there was a hive under the deck. I got stung, and my leg felt like fire was running through the veins, and it was so bad that I had to stop walking at all because the pain was so bad. Then, the day after, it happened again, only it was worse, and my leg wouldn't respond at all. It still hurt, but it wouldn't move. I guess you could say it was swelled, I don't know. I didn't really compare my leg size at the time, because I was young.

I guess you're not allergic if you don't get hives? I don't know. I don't really remember much of it anyways, cause I was really only focused on the pain in my legs. I do remember getting really hot and itchy, and I didn't feel well. It was practically a whole day each time before my parents got home.

So I guess I'm really not allergic, but I get hurt when I'm stung. Fair enough, right?

Well i guess if you cant feel your legs then something is wrong. And if you cant make it to the phone, then something is wrong. Maybe it was just the pain of getting stung getting to your head, but there could be something wrong.

Well, I know what an exaggeration of pain, but that wasn't it by any means. I know real pain, and that was it. Whether or not that constitues an allergy, or something different entirely, I don't know. I just know I don't want to get stung again.

And yes. thats a bad allergy, but not enough to trigger anaphylaxis. just dont get stung on the upper half of your body. bee stings usually start showing more severe reactions after the first/second encounter. then they get worse. talk to your doctor about it next time you go in for a check-up or a sickness. they may push you to get one of the pens. could save your life if your doctor thinks you have a bad enough allergy to them, which the fire-like-feeling in your veins indicate to me.

So there's a chance of it? Because those were the first two encounters, and both were in the leg. I really will mention it to my doctor now, because it definitely seems worth it. (Despite what my always skeptical parents think.)

i have and epi-pen. i used to be allergic to wheat, milk, eggs, peanut butter and a couple of other things. my mom used to have to come on all my elementary school trips incase she had to use the epi-pen. but i grew out of all the allergys in like 5th grade and i can eat everything now. i was so fuckin scared of getting stabbed with it. when i got stiches, the surgeon used a 3 inch needle for the numbing stuff and it hurt like a fuckin bitch. i heard stuff cracking inside my skull. dont know wtf it was.
