First,
500GB Hard Drive. Though still memory, to be used in that context someone might think you are talking about RAM.
Second,
It appears to be a pretty solid computer. Your integrated GPU is crap. But it does have a PCIx16 slot, so it is upgradeable for games.

I'd prefer to have an Intel with how well they are making CPUs.
I wouldn't throw this away though.

6 Gigs of RAM is pretty good. 500 Gig hard drive is probably more than you need depending on what you're doing with your computer. If you're like me you'll buy a terabyte external hard drive to save movies to because you've already used up your PC hard drive haha.

Is it a dual, triple, or quad core processor? Because it's only at 2.2 GHz.

Its a quad Core processor. My bro probably wont be playing cz on this, hes using for basic stuff like internet, aim, schoolwork and stuff. He might play maplestory though.

Apples ARE PC's now, hell, they were PC's even before, the name of the processor was IBM "PowerPC", which by the way still is alive thanks to the WII, Xbox360, and PS3, they all are power PC based just in different forms (single core wii, 3 core 360, and 7 core cell PS3).

Back on topic, ever since they switched to intel processors 2 years ago they became true PCs that can run XP on them (dual boot or parallels).

The point is, MACs use by 3 types of people

1) People that think they are better, but don't realize that they are the same thing, you are just paying for a different OS that you can get for free.... linux anyone, ok, so technically MAC os is BSD, but is looks the same, and FREE BSD does exits.

You can also group in the people that buy them because they "look" better, but honestly if you buy a $1400 HP/Dell/Gateway/Asus whatever, it will look just as good, you cant compare a $1600 apple laptop to your $600 crap-tastic dell.

2) I don't mean this in a bad way, but people that are too out of the tech age to use a pc correctly and will end up with spyware/virus infections, like parents and grandparents. But then again, build them a PC with the same specs as the Apple you would buy them, and put linux on it, they will never know and will save 1/2 the price, but not everyone has someone that can build it for them, so this is one of my 2 choices for people who really could use an apple.... but wait, Asus, MSI etc all make net-tops and small form PCs now that run on Intels atom platform, complete PCs for under 500 bucks that run on LINUX!!!! oops, apple is not needed.

3) Which brings me to what I have been saying for years, the ONLY reason Apple has made it though the rough times, is Video, Music, and Picture editing. Apple has programs for it that are the premier movie editing software out there, so unless you run a music or movie studio, you got ripped off.

This thing about Apples not getting viruses, is complete bull. Apparently people don't realize that they are target Apple now with new viruses. It was in the news a few weeks back Something about a back door in one of Apples programs that was easily exploited.. Have fun with that


I still say build your own. Save money, get the same damn thing.

Alright I have not had ONE PC no matter what brand last me more than 4 years, I have tried every virus program in the book, I do the defrag and the clean up every week but every PC I have always has it problems, Apple is the way to go mayne, my friends have macs and compared to my PC's they look so much better on any game you play. And they are Alot smaller.
I beleive in my opinion for max gaming the Apples have PC's beat.

Apple computers are a bit harder for them to get viruses because of how the permissions are set up through the whole system. Even so, there are a few viruses out there for macs, but they are so few because most people use Windows (mostly because Macs are expensive as fuck). Also, most of the people that make the viruses use windows.

To get a virus with windows you got to go to pretty sketchy websites and pretty much disable your firewall. Yesterday or the day before I receive the first virus sign in my pc. Took like2 seconds to get rid of it.

I don't have a mac, but Im employed now. Im working back on a construction site for christmas break and then Im gonna focus on school for the rest of my senior year so I can graduate.

Woah woah woah, Apples have PC beat in gaming... not even close, the most powerful card you can run in a mac is a 8800gt, which is by far old tech now, my card I paid $26 (9600gs) matches the 8800gt in power.

A 4yr old apple cant run any games a 4yr old PC cant either, except for the fact you can take a 4 year old pc, throw in a fresh OS and a good graphics card and play source on it, try that with a 4 year old apple, not happening.

Funny you should say 4 years, because my spare computer (the one I just switched from 1 month ago) is 4 year old tech, it is an athlon xp 2800:

Manufactured 12/2004... exactly 4 years ago, and the only thing done to it is that 2 years ago a new video card was put into it (7600gt AGP), and some old free ram was put into it 1.5 gigs, and a spare old hard drive. And I played CZ on it for a year, even played Left 4 dead on it a bunch... try that on a 4 year old mac.

As for your PC not running right, it is not windows or the PC's fault, its all the crap you loaded onto it. If you take the restore disk, throw it on there, and load the computer fresh, then your computer will run just like the day you bought it without all the crap on it, put some cheap memory in it, and a decent graphics card, then put only the stuff you need on it and it will continue to run fine for many more years.

Oh yeah, that old 4yr old pc is about to run all of splak's new servers (the pub, tf2, surf/climb server, etc), try that with an apple.

My friend walked in on to people arguing about just this, and the apple guy was going on about how there was no viruses. My friends rebuttle was because no one bought the thing so why spend the time making something to ruin it :P

I Put new Ram and a new video card, the old video card which was an nvidia was bad and when I put it in and installed it it ruined my ram everytime I would start it up it would crash in 2 minutes, the only things I have loaded on my computers are steam, Man im just saying My cousin brought her Apple over and played wow on her new apple and I played wow on my new computer and made my PC look like it was a windows 98.
