Ride your music.

Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.

Audiosurf on Steam includes The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the game to enable"Still Alive"surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of the first titles to leverage the recently announced Steamworks, offering full support for the Steam Achievements that appear on Steam Community profile pages.

Play with any music from your own collection--the game supports MP3s, iTunes M4As, WMAs, CDs and OGGs
Valve's The Orange Box Original Soundtrack is included.
Online scoreboards for each song you play.
Choose your strategy from 14 available characters.

It's really psychadelic, the demo only lets you use around 4 of your own songs before it tells you to buy the full game (out on friday but there's a discount if you preorder.)
Works really well and the online leaderboards are great, every song has it's own leaderboard of high scores.Plus, the fact that that the Orange Box soundtrack is included in the final game is good value (costs $10 when bought alone.)

no basically you choose different characters and they each play differently. For example, one of them has the ability to scoop up blocks and place them in another column whereas another lets you "nudge" them into other columns (kinda hard to explain the different characters.)
One of the characters plays with only one colour of block (you have to avoid all the grey ones and collect the colour)

And what happens, is the game generates a track for your character to "drive" along according to the music you've chosen. It also places the blocks to the beat of the music so every song will be different. Any music on your computer will be compatible with it. If the song is intense then it'll be mostly downhill (corkscrews and stuff) whereas if it's light then it'll be uphill with less blocks.

The main aim is to achieve high scores, EVERY song has it's own online leaderboard.
