Location: An igloo, clubbing cute innocent baby seals
trying to test out how my comp can handle the source engine so i download half life 2 DM and half life 2 demo.whenever i try to run either one it just crashes from the main menu without an error, anyone else have/had this problem before?any ideas?

It use to happen to me when I had my laptop.

I just guessed it was probably the memory, graphics or processor.

yeah this happened to me when i bought the orange box, TF2, portal, and the other games just crashsed like that. I just had to buy a new video card and it was fixed

Yeah, sometimes reforce causes problems. To fix, turn reforce off, then go into game, set the game resolution to the same resolution of your desktop, then turn reforce back on, problem fixed.
