Post subject:  Sponsorship?
This is something I need to talk with cole about, but we have not scheduled a time to talk yet.

But the gist of it is, if I can get Don to ok it. Splak would become sponsored by MRA, Marine Recon Alpha. Splak wouldn't ahve to change thier name or anything like that. But at the end of the new servers Splak would be granted, it would say sponsored by MRA.

If sponsored splak would get (this is definite but what I'm working on) 1cz private server, 1 cs private server, and a cz pub. But the pub is only if splak would like it.

This is posted here so everyone that is involved in splak/skeet can post thier opinion(s) about it. More information to come.

IMO we are fine w/o a sponsor.

We have funds, a dedicated, a populated pub, server techs, and good members.

Maybe it's just me, but, I don't like the new idea of "sponsors." Most of them just buy you any other server and pay for it out of their pocket. They can screw you over any time they want

Yeah, thats the only thing, this really does nothing for us, I have an unlimited number of servers, we actually have like 3 servers that sit there empty 24/7 (2 Dod:S ones and a 1.6 one).

I am going to upgrade my server hardware (from single core old computer, to quad core phenomII or core2quad) in the next 6 months or so so the L4D ones has better performance, but besides that I really dont see this helping our clan any.

That being said, I am not closed minded about this, so if there is anything you can offer us, I am open ears.

Like I said before, I have my own server hardware out at a datacenter, it cost me nothing (but cpu and ram usage) to add more servers. On the current hardware I can host about 5-10 servers (most servers use only 5% cpu each, but my 16 slot L4D uses 40-50% by itself). So hosting my own private servers is possible, but the ping is not great, and server fps is lower due to windows timer (not doing the media player trick due to high cpu usage). This will all be fixed with my new server, because it will be easily 10x more powerful.

What if they could supply splak with money. The deal would be as long as we put mra we get x amount if dollars a month also we could put some ads in maps? Idk but sounds like free money too me. Maybe some new computers for the members so Gigi an wunder
could start playing.
