Post subject: | US MARINE THROWS PUPPY OFF CLIFF |
Once again, the good old US military is in hot water. Soldiers name is David Motari and hes based in Hawaii. He is serving in Iraq. Footage of puppy hurled* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYDOEJaHz4k Other Acts of Marine Patriotism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqbSi2TdwBY UPDATE: Statement from David Motari: Mar 5th, "What, do you expect me to carry a sick dog from patrol 10+ miles back to camp with me? Did you know we are not supossed to have dogs? Either way, I did the dog a favor... Sorry you guys saw that but, it was never supossed to be shown". *Military officals have verified the authenticity of the video. |

Hm, Please do not generalize people like this with the US marines. Not all of them throw dogs off hills. |

yeah. and the other dogs they showed them killing, what makes you think they all werent threats to them. if i saw a rabid looking dog or one that was growling at me you're damn right i wouldnt hesitate to shoot it P.S. i do think it was a little cruel to chuck it off of a cliff. they could have done it in a more humane manner |

ok, but they could have shot it. its quick and painless. its not a guarantee that the puppy will instantly die on impact, but you know for sure that bullet in the head will kill him with much less confusion to the dog's knowledge |

eh, I still wouldn't trust the words of someone that chucks dogs off cliffs. The puppy could not been sick. Either way, the dog would have been better off sick. |

For some reason, this doesn't really "shock" or surprise me. Why? couple reasons. 1. this marine, as well as others, have probably seen or done worse things to people, let alone dogs. 2. there could be numerous reasons as to why this marine could not take care of the dog all the way back to camp, then while at camp still take care of it for the rest of the time. 3. sure there could have been more "humane" ways to kill the dog, but either way it had to go. Everyone does shitty things, things they regret, and things they wish never happened. however to generalize is upsetting. That guy is a douche for throwing the puppy, we all know it, lets move on. |

Err this is one of those topics where statements usually get out of hand. So I'm gonna sum it up with war = sucks |

ill one up your statement. being stuck in a war that is caught up in bureaucracy that could have/should have been ended 2 years ago sucks. |

I agree that a generalization here is stupid/ignorant/upsetting. However, I find the act more upsetting still, on an individual level. That's just unneccesary. Completely. Sorry, but I would have gone with the gun and nothing else. That's even IF the dog really needed to go. Was the man a veteranarian(animals)? How did he know? Unneccesary in the extreme. That's not mercy. I don't care what the hell else you call it, it's NOT mercy. Edit: Just found the video elsewhere. Made me sick. It was obvious he enjoyed it and there's no way it would have been a problem to bring it back. There was NO MERCY in that. Anyone who says differently better have some good fucking logic or I'll rip you a new one. Or two. Or ten. |

I doidnt post this up to necesarily generalize all marines and the mission in Iraq, quite frankly everyone has their own opinion and truthfully i don't really care. But if they guy knew the puppy was sick why even bother make contact with it let alone throw it off a cliff while someones video taping it. The fact that they were laughing before the act was pretty apauling as well. But, this isnt the first time marines were invovled in some highly controversial matters. Just thought I should share the vid, for some reason this also made it to the news (under international) |
