i did a report of sickle cell anemia...
its when your blood cells turn into a pointy sickle shape instead of a normal disk, slidy shape. therefore, the sickle cells cannot go through the bloodstream smoothly. this causes blood clots, early heart attacks, and, unfortunately, death. I am very sorry for you're friends death, element. Sickle Cell is very hard to deal with and is very painful.

Sad stuff. i have never actually heard a real report of someone having sickle cell anemia because none of my friends have ever even been in touch with that disease (nor has anyone in my school). i think its pretty rare in america, not that sure.
