Really. I have been hit with the belt many times when i was little. it really does teach you that it is a must to respect your elders. i tell you what, when my dad use to get out the belt i would run for my life, but in the end it did me no good cause it only meant i got spanked more. teaches you better to face what you had done wrong instead of running from it.

well it's not like your getting flogged with the belt. It's still a spank, it just hurts more(but is not permanent nor dangerous)

oh, of course not. yeah it hurt at the time, it hurt quite a bit, but it was punishment i deserved and not of it permanently scarred me, i never welted up or anything. it was just a tool so when i saw it, i knew i had done a wrong.

I'm so glad to hear so many people agree that it isn't abuse to discipline your kids... I thought my father and myself were the only ones left in this sad, sad world!
