| Post subject: | wireless network |
Yo, alright well im working off of a wireless network that my dad hosts thru his own computer. His comp works off of xp sp2 and its pretty much up to date. My question is this, how can I throw a password on the wifi network and also name it as well? is it as simple as doing the network wizard or is there more to it? any advice is welcome. My goal is to secure the network so my neighbors arent using it, which they are doing right now. (itunes discovered that for me). i appreciate the help thanks. |

First of all, I don't think your dad is running his pc as a router lol. Second all you have to do is go to the router settings and put a WEP key to lock it up. To go to your router settings type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. If it hasn't been messed with, the username should be admin and password should be password. From there got to settings or to security and search for the wireless section. Search for WEP keep enable or something like that. |
