| Post subject: | Adding a secondary SATA HDD |
I have one 60gb SATA drive on my DELL Dimension C521. I want to add another hard drive. This one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822136075 And i'm gonna use this cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6812106201 I think I might need a power cable too because theres no spare ones that are like the one connected to my current drive. So I'll get this to split one of my free connectors: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6812119010 This is what I currently have:
The blue cable goes to my hard drive, and the orange one goes to my cd drive. Soo, could someone give me the steps on how I need to install it. Thx |

First, check if you have a free space to put the hard drive Second check if you have a place to put the Sata cable (slot) Third Check if you have a free power cable for it Fourth just connect everything (lewl) I have 1 disk running sata and i used to that were IDE, now its just one. |
