Hey, well I know this is probably a lost cause but does anyone know anything about "cheap" gaming laptops. Nothing too fancy, maybe a TF2 quality game (or the game that starts with a w and ends with craft)? And if not, what types of "cheap" laptops would be great for general use for community college and then on to a 4-year college. Please no netbooks. thanks! |

Gaming laptop = $1000ish for quality hardware, and good enough for TF2 http://hothardware.com/Articles/Asus-G5 ... ng-Laptop/ Or $700pc + $300 netbook and have both, and the pc will be quad core (vs dual on a gaming notebook), larger and faster hard drive, faster memory, better cooling, better video card, and upgradeable. Also I have seen a bunch of cheap NOTEbooks that are single/dual core 1.8ghz ish, in the $300-400 range. |

Well you know I was thinking I'll need a laptop for school why not get something that can play a few games. I already have my desktop comp which I love very much which I built for like 700 ish dollars. I guess to play games on a laptop you'll need to spend some big bucks, as for a cheap laptop for college, something about those netbooks which seems a little gay (sorry for anyone that has one There's one on woot for 170 bucks which is a steal but I just don't know if I could be seen walking around with a tiny laptop which could fit in my pocket. I'll look around for a laptop for school for around 200-350ish bucks, yeah I really want to cheap about this! |

I made a decent gaming laptop from here. http://www.ibuypower.com/ I spent about 1300 on it and had it sent to Afghanistan so i could play some games via lan. Games like company of heroes, CS 1.6, Stalker, I also played Half life 2 on it. Too bad the conditions of Afghanistan don't like sensitive electronics, so it died 6 months down the road. |

Hey so I was reading up and it looks like you usually can't replace the graphics card in a laptop? |

Take your desktop and just squeeze it and it will basically be a laptop. |
