Post subject:  My lag. Any help??
Alot of you have noticed that i have been lagging pretty bad. And this never happend to me before. Its very strange and i cant fix it. But today i was messing with the internet connecting stuff and i clicked on a diagnostics thing. This is what came up:
WLAN
Event:
Connection to remote host IP address failed!

... any idea what this might mean? And if you havnt noticed my lag in the pub, it happens at the start of each round and sometimes while im playing. but soon goes away. If you know how to fix it or know any tips, please tell me. It would help alot. :) Thanks.

Oh, and another thing, my ping shoots up to high 500's. Its even reached to the 2000's! Its very strange. :shock:

Mine did that a while back. I contacted steam support and the only thing that fixed it outta all the tips they gave me was reinstalling Steam.

My pings been higher than usual lately, been hitting the 200s in the server, I put that down to.. legal downloading

And I have reinstalled steam 3 times now.... And I still lag, and ping goes to 1.5 on occasion. I get some flush packet error.

ok for all of you
Restart your pc's. Have no programs running that use the internet. No messengers, browsers, steam ... just your antivirus keep that running. Leave the pc idle for 5 minutes with the internet connection active.

Start/run "cmd" without quotes

then type "netstat -n" in the black screen

If you see more than 3 or 4 connections then there's a big possibility you have ad ware that uses the internet and causes these lag spikes. If not then it could just be steam or your ISP

Well, it happens on all of my games. L4D, CSS, Garrys Mod, CZ all of them. But uh... maybe i should try re-installing Steam.

HOLY FUCK, I did what you said Sword and i got about 30 things that say TCP the local address, the foriegn address and the state..... :shock: May explain my lags that last one min... How do i get rid of that shit?
