title says it all really, so i can locate where my infected (or maybe "infected"?) file is, but the question is, do i delete it or not? could i just change the value to something to disable it? or is the registry file the virus and it's okay to delete it? (i'm thinking that a virus is editting a piece of my registry, just an FYI so you know where i'm coming from)

stay out of your registry at all costs if your not VERY educated about what it is your doing there.

I only go into the registry if I have to.

Honestly, if your concerned a virus has hijacked some of your registry entries, even if you get it out... it probably changed some others... and your computer will likely never run the same.

If I remember correctly, you've been fighting this same virus for over a month. Save yourself some more time and headache and just reformat.

...just make sure you save all of your data/drivers first. :)

Unless you know the specific path in the registry where the virus has set, I also suggest to never touch the registry.
