title says it all really, so i can locate where my infected (or maybe "infected"?) file is, but the question is, do i delete it or not? could i just change the value to something to disable it? or is the registry file the virus and it's okay to delete it? (i'm thinking that a virus is editting a piece of my registry, just an FYI so you know where i'm coming from) |

stay out of your registry at all costs if your not VERY educated about what it is your doing there. I only go into the registry if I have to. Honestly, if your concerned a virus has hijacked some of your registry entries, even if you get it out... it probably changed some others... and your computer will likely never run the same. If I remember correctly, you've been fighting this same virus for over a month. Save yourself some more time and headache and just reformat. ...just make sure you save all of your data/drivers first. |

Unless you know the specific path in the registry where the virus has set, I also suggest to never touch the registry. |
