People go for a standalone mic, with their own headset thing and other people go for just headsets with the mic attached. I'm a guy that goes with a headset with a mic, i find them pretty comfortable, but cant ache after awhile. If you go for a headset attached mic, don't go for the ones that go behind your ears (like a hook) they will make your ears bruised and its painful. I use to have a Saitek vibrating headset, it was comfy and it wasn't to heavy. The wires broke though so I got a crappy one for £10 ($20?) which is really uncomfortable, if I was you, I'd do trial and error, go for one that looks comfy, but think it will work the best. Try and stick with good manufacturers, Logitech, Saitek, Sony, Bose, and so on. |

thanks for all the info. I'll order one off tigerdirect tonight. I know this is off topic but i didn't really want to start a whole other thread. I installed ventrilo yesterday on my comp so i could listen to white cat teaching bass how to play better. So this morning i went on and there were some people hanging out there talking. I remember you all always saying to get on teamspeak and hangout, so i figured i could stay and just get to know people from Splak on vent. All the sudden it says i got kicked and it says the reason "get out of my vent". So i was like great somebody kicked me for no reason. I figured somebody just didn't know who I was so I went on a few minutes ago and heard someone say get out of my vent, and then got kicked again. I was just wondering why this is happening. I don't have a mic so i can't be annoying or anything. |

Vent is pretty much Display's, him and his school mates use it for WoW and stuff, so it was probably them. If you hangout in Vent, use the .:Splak| Section. Otherwise use Teamspeak. Edit: I think its Display's anyway. |

you dont wear your helment and use the headset in it auto? lol that'd be awesome if you could get a pic of that. you playing cz with your helment and kevlar and your p90 pointing at the screen, while in game you have a p90.. lol ok sorry to derail this back on topic. I perfer the above head ones, like element i get the cuts above my ears when i wear the behind the head ones too long. |

Teamspeak is Splak's official voice-communication app. I pay for my own vent server. It's outside of Splak and belongs to me - Splak doesn't need two different voice apps. Sure it says Splak in the title, mainly because I let our scrim team use it, as it's pretty clear. Otherwise if you don't have permission to be in there: don't. Esp. when we're running an Arena or something alike. I don't like people I don't know in there, so when I tell you to get out, that's queue for you to get out. Listen to your own advice. Oh, and then don't come in the pub the next day and insult me while not knowing I was playing there at the same time, you dipshit. |

I use a simple cheap set of Logitech headphone with an attached mic and they work absolutely great. |
