Post subject:  Microphone not working [FIXED]
yeah....

I have no clue why it's not working. I've tried plugging it into my dad's computer and it works fine, but mine is no success.
My microphone settings are set to what they aught to be set to, which in my case is Realtek AC97 Audio. My mic isn't muted, and isn't muted in any of my steam games (which is sometimes why it gets muted.) Also is not muted in steam settings. It's plugged into the back of my computer, which should work fine.

Any ideas?

Yeah check your control panel then go to sounds then mess around with it until its set up right, if it used to work then take it apart and make sure all the wires are in place and it should work, if it still doesn't work buy a new one cause Ive had 4 of them go bad on me.

He already tried it on another computer. He knows its not his mic, its his environment.

Please, never recommend anyone disassemble anything if you're not sure of what your talking about.

Not trying to be mean, but you could have caused him to have to buy another mic when there's nothing wrong with this one.

I got it fixed

I was actually just messing around with the setting to see if i could make it work. I went to control panel, sounds and audio devices, hardware, then i clicked on my mic (which is Realtek AC97 Audio), Then went to the Driver tab, and then Roll Back Driver. It went back to when i first installed the mic which was some 3 years ago lol.

After i restarted my computer that night, it didn't work but once i got in-game it started working.

Just posting this for any people who have this problem in the future.
