| Post subject: | Driver Problems |
A few days ago my computer stopped working and I had to manually turn it off. After it was turned back on I could not play any of my games right/Getting very low fps. I tried changing the resolution and all those things that might better it but they were not successful.I also tried running System Restore to rollback and yet my games wouldn't work. Someone told me that maybe the drivers could have been out of date so I downloaded Driver Detective and ran a scan. Afterwards I ran another scan with the Windows Update program vista has and here were the results.
As you can see, DDetective showed that I DO need to update them. However the Vista showed everything was fine with it. My problem is that I do not have any experience with drivers or know very much about them. I would like to know how to update them or if I can really do anything about this . I have tried looking through many websites for walkthroughs but haven't found any good ones so far. Is there anything I can do about this ? Is it worth re-formatting for this kind of problem? Just in case it helps here are the system specs. *system specs. Os - Windows Vista Home Basic System Model- Inspiron 1521 Processor - AMD Turion 64 X2 M.Technology (2CPU's)~ 1.8ghz Memory-894MB RAM Help/helpful posts would be much appreciated. |

It's pretty simple, actually.. Just head over to AMDs/ATIs driver download page, chose the right Operating System (you are Windows Vista 32-bit), and correct Video Card spec's - and it will lead you to your correct download. http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html Once you download it, open it up the .exe setup, and let it install. Reboot, etc. |

Nah, Vista's actually pretty good for me. It does what it has to do. In fact, it downloaded the drivers for me with "windows update", I don't care if XP is better, vista might not be what everyone expected but heck, it does what it does and people buy it for that. |
