| Post subject: | New Build |
Hola gamers and fellow clan members. I have decided to do my first build, with the help of my friend(who has done 1 before), and I am starting to put together a list of equipment that I will need to gather up. My budget will be 1100 to 1200 on hardware alone(does not include monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc). I am looking to run XP or if someone can talk me into Vista so be it. I come here looking for good, sound advice on parts etc and also a start. This being my first build and all, I have no idea what specifically to look for. I have an idea of what goes into making one, but the specifics are completely unknown to me. I am looking to build a computer that can easily play anything coming out of the Orange Box as well as CoD4, bioshock etc. I need to make it clear I am not looking to build the be all end all computer Also colors and all the pizazz is not needed but if it comes along with it, cool also, also looking to build this early-mid summer if that means anything. I sincerely thank you all in advance for the help and guidance! Much appreciated! |

Me and Penguin are doing the exact same build. I just started mine tonight. (pics to come) Here is my exact build(with a possibility of a change of GPU, but not a great possibility) https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wi ... =New+Build |

if i had to downgrade a few things to get it down under 1200, already subtracting the monitor, what things would you suggest? or just work a few extra weeks and save up for this build? |

Just talk to me when the time comes, I can find the best you can get, for what you need, in your budget. If you are interested in overclocking, so be it, I can help you with that too, if not, then so be it too. For that price you can get a: 3.0+ghz core2 duo 45nm (or a 2.66ghz quad) Zalman cpu cooler (or stock cooler if no overclocking) Antec P182 + power supply 4gb DDR1066 500gb or 750gb drive DVD burner 9600gt video card (about equal to a 8800gt) But by this summer, all that will change. |
