Ok, so, my family goes to the Jersey shore every year in the summer. Last year was a little different because my brother had a girlfriend of about 8 months at that time(still together now). So my family decides, eh what the hell, bring her too.

So now a few hours ago i talk to my mom about maybe bringing one of my friends this year, since my brother brought someone of his own. First words out of my moms mouth: "NO WE ARE NOT BRINGING ANYONE ELSE IT IS A FAMILY TIME TOGETHER". I say, "Ma, calm down. Last year Joe brought someone. Why cant I?" Mom: "I am not talking about this subject(Right here i know shes knows that she wrong cause i just tied her up)."

So who else thinks my mom is being a little over reactive?

Who's right in this subject?

Eh, she is right. Family time is family time. Maybe last year she realized your bro was spending too much time with his gf then he was with family and she doesn't want it to be like that again. Just my opinion.

Your mother is always right.

She is paying for the thing, its her choice.

Sorry, but I gotta go with the mother.

Her reasons for letting the GF come along are probably entirely different from what you think. It could have been her way of accepting her into the family. It could have been her way of gauging her, getting to know her, etc...

I agree with the madre.

I would expect my mum to do the same thing. Shes in charge respect he decision since its fair enough.
