Post subject:  Anyone good with fish problems? (freshwater)

well i noticed today that my Pictus catfish (http://www.aquariumlife.net/profile-ima ... tus-lg.jpg - what it looks like) has thinned out to almost bone it looks like in the back and the front looks normal. plus it lost one of its top whiskers(or w/e) and its back fin looks like its dissapearing or being eaten.

Anyone known what could cause this? a solution? or even some advice? thanks for the help.

I don't really know much but is there any chemicals in the water? Perhaps too much Chlorine or something?

THE BAD: I can't really diagnose the problem until I have your tank specs. Give me tank size, tankmates, filter, temperature, and PH

THE GOOD: this sounds like my time to come out to you guys about my embarrasing hobby >___< and no, it's not buffucking, it's keeping aquariums. I have 5 tanks in my room and I mainly focus on keeping planted tanks.

^ :O 5 tanks nuclear?!...damn. I had that problem with my semiagressive fish too so we thought one was pickin on each other when they were gone. But then they started getting white spots on their bodies. Turned out it was that disease Ick. And u have to buy medicine for them. Does he have spots yet?

Nuke, growing up we had a 150 gallon saltwater tank, my step mom still has it, but she does not know how to take care of it, its been a year since my dad passed, so the fish will all start dying soon because she is not going to change the water (yearly or every 2 years), and never changes the polly-cotton pre-filter. If you are seriously interested in it, and if she wants to get ride of it anytime, I will keep you in mind, you just have to pay for it to be picked up, boxed and shipped.

Looks kinda like this:

Has 4 doors, larger top, heaters, replaced all the pumping hardware a few years back (its like 15 years old).

Not promising anything, its up to her.
