When I graduate I'm getting one for college, but I don't really know all that much about PC specs and I know some people here do. I'd like it to be a pc, and I don't want it to cost too much, but I'm not gonna go cheap, just not a custom built masterpiece. |

Don't listen to this guy. You can get the same specs in a toshiba satellite as a macbook pro for a quarter of the price. |

Most people spend about $900 on a laptop. Buy a $300 netbook, AND build a $600 desktop/gaming PC. You will have a nice powerhouse for storage, gaming, etc, and a netbook with 9hrs of battery for classes. |

I totally agree with Cole if all you're planning to do on on your laptop at school is just take notes and such. If you need to do some programming or modeling at a later time I'd recommend doing some research online because you can find pretty decent laptops for pretty cheap. |

You need to use Parallels, which can run XP as a "virtual machine." |

I like right click way too much. I don't think I'll be doing much gaming on it, the music and picture stuff on the mac are so tempting though... |

If you need it for college, macs are very versatile... i am going to get one for college as well. If you are a mac hater (i was once one until i actually tried one), you can get a good computer just about anywhere. Just stack it with memory, RAM and a good processor. Also get vista. |

Actually I totally forgot about netbooks. Do get one cheap as hell and you'll pretty much use it for college and what not. |
