Ok so a friend of mine was helping me get rid of stuff to make my computer run faster. Then he told me to restart my computer and tell him how my computer was doing. When I tryed to logg onto steam it keeps saying theres a connection problem. Now im sure i have connection! I checked the fourms in steam and it said to see if there was a fire wall stoping it from getting a conection. There isint. Please...if anyone has any ideas please help! I dont want to lose all my games! |

just do system restore the day before he told you to do w/e or go to control panel and remove steam and reinstall it at www.steampowered.com |

nah this happened to me yesterday. I checked steam forums and it's happening to a lot of other people. All you have to do it go to your steam folder and delete clientregistry.blob and try to log in |

I was about to say the same thing Storm, try that first before you system restore, your friends intentions may have paid off if it works. |

Erhm... Storm? It most likely is what Element said: Delete your clientregistry.blob VeXeD and I both had the same problems. Generally rule of thumb is when something is wrong with Steam - delete that file. 8 times out of 10 it works, and in the case it does. |

maybe. maybe not. But he gained valuable knowledge in how some applications work/dont work. Also, maybe next time he will look further into the issue and be able to figure it out by himself. Not wanting to have to go through the whole uninstall/install process is a mighty big incentive in reading others resolutions online. |
